»Arizona State won the men's and women's titles led by wins by Jacquelyn Johnson in the women's pentathlon in a collegiate record 4,496 points and Kyle Alcorn in the 3,000 meters in 8:00.82. The Sun Devil edged Florida State, 44-41, with a third-place finish in the 4 x 400 relay. The ASU women defeated LSU, 51-43.

2008 NCAA Indoor Championships - Day 1
»Bianca Knight of Texas and Ryan Whiting of Arizona State set collegiate records in the women's 200 meters and shot put, respectively. Knight clocked 22.40 in the women's 200 to move into second on the all-time U.S. list and No. 8 all-time. Whiting won the shot put with a heave of 71-3 1/2.
