2007 IAAF World Championships
»The U.S. tied a record with 26 medals, including 14 gold in the meet at Nagai Stadium in Osaka, Japan on Aug. 25-Sept. 2, 2007. Tyson Gay (100, 200, 4 x 100 relay) and Allyson Felix (200, 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay) won three gold medals each. Bernard Lagat became the first to win the 1,500 and 5,000 and first U.S. medallist ever in the events.

2007 Keep L.A. Running 5 and 10K
»Joan Benoit Samuelson returns to Los Angeles for the Keep L.A. Running 5 and 10K at Dockweiler Beach on Sunday, July 15, 2007 nearly 23 years after winning the inaugural women's marathon in the 1984 Olympics. Samuelson, 50, who has qualified for every U.S. women's Olympic marathon trials and is training for the 2008 race, was the overall winner in the women's 10K

2007 Meeting Gaz de France Paris-St. Denis
»Alan Webb, Sanya Richards and Yelena Isinbayeva recorded world-leading marks in the IAAF Golden League meet at the Stade de France in Paris-St. Denis, France on Friday, July 6, 2007. Webb won the 1,500 meters in 3:30.54. Richards and Isinbayeva were women's winners in the 400 meters at 49.54 and 16-1 1/4, respectively.

2007 USA Track & Field Championships
»Tyson Gay set meet records of 9.84 in the 100 and 19.62 in the 200 in the World Championships qualifying meet at IUPUI's Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. on June 21-24, 2007. In the 1,500, Alan Webb clocked 3:34.82 to break a 25-year-old meet record in the 1,500. Dee Dee Trotter was a surprise winner over Sanya Richards in the women's 400 in 49.64.

2007 Nike Outdoor Nationals
»Eleanor Roosvelt High (Md.) set a national record of 3:51.90 in the girls' 1,600-meter Sprint Medley relay. Chanelle Price won the girls' 800 meters in 2:02.76 for the fastest U.S. high school time in 25 years. Sam Borchers in the mile (4:03.33) and Matt Centrowitz in the 2 mile (8:41.55) were other winners in the meet at North Carolina A&T's Aggie Stadium in Greesnsboro, N.C. on June 15-16, 2007.

2007 Prefontaine Classic
»Kenya's Daniel Kipchirchir Komen won the Bowerman Mile in 3:48.28 for an American soil record and Mozambique's Maria Mutola won the women's 800in 1:58.33 for her 15th Prefontaine win in a row at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on Sunday, June 10, 2007. In the 2 miles, Craig Mottram beat Tariku Bekele, 8:03.50 to 8:04.83, with Matt Tegenkamp in third in a U.S. record 8:07.07.

2007 NCAA Championships
»The Florida State men defeated LSU, 54-48, to defend its team title buoyed by 100- and 200-meter winner Walter Dix and Ricardo Chambers in the 400 in 44.66 on June 6-9, 2007 at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, Calif. The Arizona State women beat LSU, 60-53, with wins by Jaquelyn Johnson in the heptathlon with 5,984 points and Jessica Pressley in the shot put at 59-0 3/4.

2007 Jim Bush Southern California USATF Championships
»Angel Perkins and Tameisha King were double women's winners in the meet at Occidental College on Sunday, June 3, 2007. Perkins won the 200 in 23.18 and the 400 in 52.40. King was victorious in the 100 hurdles in 13.87 and the long jump at 20-0 1/2. Angela Daigle-Bowen (wind-aided 11.48) and Leroy Dixon (10.14) were men's and women's 100 winners.

»National records were set in the 300-meter hurdles by Jeshua Anderson of Woodland Hills Taft at 35.28 and Tori Anthony of Castilleja in the girls' pole vault at 14-1 as well as a National Rederation record of 13.03 in the girls' 100 hurdles by Vashti Thomas of Mt. Pleasant in the 89th CIF State Track Championships at Hughes Stadium in Sacramento, Calif. on June 1-2, 2007. |
2007 Road To Eugene
»Maria Mutola won the women's 800 meters in 1:58.71 to continue her win streak at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on Sunday, May 27, 2007. The 34-year-old Mutola has a streak for 14 consecutive Prefontaine Classic wins and has not lost at Hayward since she was a high school student at nearby Springfield High competing in an open race more than 15 years ago. |

»USC won the men's title over Oregon, 83-75, buoyed by 4 x 100- and 4 x 400-meter relay wins and victories by Kai Kelley in the 110 hurdles, and Noah Bryant in the shot put at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on Saturday, May 26, 2007. Arizona State won the women's title over USC, 94-74, in the national championship qualifying competition.

»Newport Harbor High senior Allison Stokke won the girls' pole vault at 13-3 1/2 in the California State meet competition at Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif. on Friday, May 25, 2007. The Cal-bound Stokke has been the subject of international attention in newspapers and Internet message boards after her picture was posted on a sports blog.

»Bryshon Nellum won the 200 in a Division I record 20.58, the 400 in 46.55 and ran on victorious 4 x 100- and 4 x 400-meter relays to help Long Beach Poly win its eighth title in nine years at Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif. on Saturday, May 19, 2007. Christine Babock of Irvine Woodbridge in Division II and Chad Hall of Big Bear in Division IV were 1,600-3,200 double winners.

»Meseret Defar of Ethiopia set a world best of 9:10.47 in the women's 2 mile to highlight the adidas Track Classic at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. on Sunday, May 20, 2007. American records were also set by Breaux Greer in the javelin at 297-7 and Jenn Stuczynski in the women's pole vault at 15-10 1/2.

2007 Pacific-10 Championships
»Oregon men and the Arizona State women won team titles at Stanford University's Cobb Track & Angell Field on May 12-13, 2007. Oregon, buoyed by 5,000-10,000-meter winner Galen Rupp, won with 114 points to hold off Arizona State (111) and USC (110) for its third title in six yaers. Arizona State defended its title with 158 points to outdistance Stanford (134 1/3) and UCLA (118 1/2).

»Anwar Moore clocked a world-leading 13.12 to win the 110-meter high hurdles and Khadevis Robinson won the 800 for the fifth consecutive year in 1:48.61 to highlight the 66th annual meet at Modesto Junior College in Modesto, Calif. on Saturday, May 5, 2007. World champions Christian Cantwell and Tianna Madision were winners in the shot put at 69-10 3/4 and women's long jump at 21-8.

»The United States wins 5 of 6 races in the USA vs. The World competition to highlight the 113th annual meet at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa. on April 26-28, 2007. The University of Michigan women set collegiate records in the 4 x 800- and 4 x 1,500-meter relays. Columbia wins the Championship of America men's 4 x 800-meter relay for their first Penn win since 1938.

2007 Kansas Relays
»Bershawn Jackson and Nichole Denby were named the outstanding male and female athletes of the 80th Kansas Relays at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kan. on April 19-20, 2007. Jackson won the 400-meter hurdles for the fourth time in five years in 48.75. Denby won the women's 100 hurdles for the second year in a row in 12.72 for the fastest season debut of her career.

2007 Mt. San Antonio College Relays
»Shalane Flanagan's American record of 14:44.80 in the women's 5,000 meters was among four national records in the 49th meet on April 15-17, 2007. Giovanni Lanaro and Gerardo Martinez of Mexico set national records in the pole vault (19-0 3/4) and high jump (7-6 1/2), respectively, and Gao Shuying of China sets an Asian record of 14-10 in the women's pole vault.

2007 Texas Relays
»The Texas women, Diana Pickler of Washington State and Sarah Cocco of Fairview High (Colo.) were named the outstanding performers of the 80th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Tex. on April 5-7, 2007. The Longhorn women won five titles. Pickler won the heptathlon with a world yearly leader 6,205 points for the No. 4 mark by a collegian.

»Arizona State women and the Wisconsin men win first team titles at the Randal Tyson Center in Fayetteville, Ark. on March 9-10, 2007. Arizona State receives wins from Jacquelyn Johnson in the pentathlon and Sarah Stevens in the shot put for a 40-33 win over LSU. Chris Solinsky wins 5,000 meters and places second in the 3,000 for a 40-35 Wisconsin victory over Florida State.

»The USC women's 4 x 200-meter relay of Candice Davis, Elizabeth Olear, Myra Hasson and Carol Rodriguez ran 1:32.87 to break a 21-year-old school record in the Trojan Relays at Cromwell Field in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 3, 2007. Kai Kelley won the 110 high hurdles in 13.93 the 400 hurdles in 51.19 and ran the leadoff leg on the USC's victorious 1,600 relay that timed 3:08.88.

2007 AT&T USA Track & Field Indoor Championships
»Shalane Flanagan and Christian Cantwell won the VISA Championship Series to culminate the meet at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass. on Feb. 24-25, 2007. Flanagan won the 3,000 meters in 8:56.75 after setting an AR of 8:33.25 at the Boston Indoor Games. Cantwell won the shot put at 71-3 1/2 and had a throw of 71-9 at the Millrose Games.

2007 New Balance Collegiate Invitational
»Natasha Hastings of South Carolina and Andra Manson of Texas were named the athletes of the meet at the Armory in New York City on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007. Hastings won the women’s 400 meters in 51.70 and had a 51.2 anchor on the Gamecocks'4x400 relay that set Armory record of 3:30.95. Manson won the high jump for the fourth year in an Armory record 7-6 1/2.

Ageless Gail Devers won her fourth 60-meter hurdle title at age 40, 15 years after her first win in 1992. |
2007 USATF National Pole Vault Summit
»Jenn Stuczynski and Jeff Hartwig were winners in the 17th annual competition at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nev. on Friday, January 19, 2007. Stuczynski cleared a career-best 15-5 1/2 to move into a tie for seventh on the all-time world performer list and hold off April Steiner, who set two PRs, to finish second at 15-1. Hartwig cleared 18-8 1/4 for his fifth Summit win. |
